Mountain Dew Apple Wow!

My husband's niece mention these tasty treats on Facebook and I finally got the recipe from her. Mountain Dew is not something I drink but it is definitely something I don't mind cooking with, especially with results like this. So a big Thank You goes to J. for sharing!

Ingredients:
4 Granny Smith apples
2 cans crescent rolls
2 sticks butter
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
12 oz Mountain Dew
cinnamon

Peel, core and cut your apples in 4 sections. (The recipe called for 2 Granny smith apples cut into 8 pieces but I wanted more apple in each bite.) Unroll crescent rolls, wrap each section of rolls around each section of apples.
Place in a buttered 9x13 Pyrex pan. Melt butter and add sugar. Pour over apples.
Pour Mountain Dew around apples. You can use a 12 oz can of Mountain Dew but I purchased a whole bottle. Sprinkle top with cinnamon. Bake for 30-45 minutes at 350 degrees or until apples are golden brown. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
I  will be having a GiveAway when I reach 100 followers on Facebook and 50 fans!
Details will be coming soon!Posted by Picasa
I will be sharing this on Gold Star Wednesday's, Foodie Friday, Full Plate Thursday,

  4. This recipe isn't an original of the Pioneer Woman's. I have heard of this recipe for years way before any one had heard of Ree Drummond.

  5. It's true...this recipe has been around WAY longer than P-Dub! I got it from my husband's grandmother, only mine didn't seem to turn out as well as yours did. Maybe she left off an ingredient?? :-)
