This is a recipe my Mom made over 30 years ago. I have no idea where she got it but it was a family favorite! You could substitute the cherries with blueberries.
Mix together:
2 sleeves graham crackers, crushed
1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Press 3/4 of mixture in bottom and up sides of a 9x13"pan
Pour 2 cans of Cherry Pie Filling over graham crackers or,
Mix:
5 Tblsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 cup sugar
Add, 1 qt. cherries
Cook until thickened and clear, stirring constantly, pour over graham crackers.
Beat:
5 eggs whites until frothy
Slowly add 1 cup sugar, beat until stiff
Spread over cherries, Cover with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake 35 minutes at 275 degrees.
I will be posting this to This Weeks Cravings, Gold Star Wednesday, Foodie Friday,
